PATIO HEATER (50,000 BTU)
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

  1. DO NOT modify the heater or operate a heater that has been modified from its original condition.
  2. Use only propane gas. Be sure the tanks are for VAPOR WITHDRAWAL, like the ones that have been supplied.
  3. Mount the propane cylinders vertically (shutoff valve up). Secure them from falling and from damage.
  4. Locate the cylinders at least 7 feet from the heater and do not direct exhaust toward containers.
  5. Use only the regulator and hose assembly provided with the heater.
  6. For indoor use, the area must be well ventilated.
  7. If at any time gas odor is detected, IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUE operation until the source of gas has been located.
  8. Use only in areas free of flammable vapor or high dust content. NEVER use where gasoline, paint thinner or other flammable vapors are present.
  9. Operate only on stable, level surface.
  10. Do not use with duct work. Do not restrict inlet or exit.
  11. Do not move, handle or service while hot or burning.
  12. Be sure to check with your local FIRE MARSHALL for the proper requirements concerning the safe operation of this heater. EACH city will differ in its fire codes, but generally the units can not be used in places of assembly, occupied residence (homes), or where certain fire hazards exist.

STARTING:

  1. Pull the outer cover up and tip it so it will stay up on the braces.
  2. Hook up 5 gal. tank and check fitting for leaks using a soap solution, after turning on the main valve. Replace the tank cover.
  3. Turn the control knob (located on the upper portion of the heater) to the pilot position (turn the knob clockwise so that the lettering is positioned next to the red button).
  4. Depress the red button and light the pilot light (located in the hole above the control knob).
  5. Hold the red button down for 30 seconds and release, then turn the control knob to the "on" position.
  6. If the heater fails to light, repeat the starting procedure and hold the red button down longer.

STOPPING:

  1. 1) Turn the control knob to the "off" position.
  2. If you need to relight the heater you will have to wait 5 minutes.
  3. If the heater is to be turned off for a long period of stored then be sure you turn off the main valve at the tank.
