Floor Sander, Drum Type

WARNING: Machines can cause flammable materials and vapors to burn. Do not use this machine with or near matches, fuels, grain dust, solvents, thinners, or other flammable materials.

WARNING: To prevent fire or explosion:

  1. Remove the contents of the dust bag when it is 1/3 full.
  2. Remove the contents of the dust bag each time you finish using the machine.
  3. Do not put the contents of the dust bag into a fire.
  4. Use a hammer and punch to set all nails so that the sanding drum will not touch the nails.

WARNING: Do not operate this machine unless it is completely assembled and all guards are in place.

WARNING: Keep hands, feet, and loose clothing away from all moving parts of the machine.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Move the machine to the location of your work.
  2. Connect the power cable to the power supply outlet.
  3. Hold both of the handles. Tilt the machine back so that the sanding drum does not touch the floor.
  4. Put the On/Off switch in the "I" position.
  5. Move the machine forward as you lower the sanding drum to the floor.

CAUTION: To prevent serious damage to the floor surface, make sure the machine is always moving when the machine is in operation and the sanding drum is in contact with the floor.

  6. Move the machine in the direction of the grain in the wood whenever it is possible. If the floor is uneven, move the machine at an angle to the grain during the first pass.

CAUTION: To prevent serious damage to the floor surface, make sure the sanding drum is raised before stopping the machine or changing direction.

  7. Move the machine backward over the surface just finished to complete the first pass.
  8. For each pass over the floor, move the machine 2" over the pass you have just finished.
  9. Do not lift the back of the machine. The weight of the machine gives enough pressure for all types of sanding.
